Virtual Prayer Walk

On May 30th several churches from around the Bay Area will descend upon the city of San Francisco to pray for this new church plant! We're tremendously excited to have them join with us in prayer and asking for God to provide in big ways and we'd like for you to be able to join with these other churches that same morning! We've created a virtual prayer walk on Google Maps for you to join with us in praying for the city and this new church plant!

On Saturday, May 30th at 11:30am PDT, join us by clicking this link and praying for the San Francisco Project and the city of San Francisco! We're looking forward to having many different churches here in the city praying as well as many individuals from around the world praying for God to do something amazing in the city of San Francisco through this new church that dreams of helping people find their way back to God!

Grace & Peace,

Introducing The Keenan

Keenan Donahue is a student from Ozark Christian College joining us this summer as an intern to learn about and be a part of helping to create a movement of reproducing churches in the city of San Francisco. Keenan has lived in several different urban environments most notably Phoenix and Seattle and brings a keen awareness of urban living and urban culture to the table. As a way of introducing Keenan to everyone, I sat down with him for an interview:

Keenan what was it that intrigued you most about coming to San Francisco to do your internship?

I really like urban ministry and I feel like it’s one of the biggest needs in the country right now. Getting involved in a new church in an urban setting is something that really intrigues me and feels like something I could give my life to. My family lives in the Bay Area and I’ve had the opportunity to visit San Francisco on several occasions and I’ve been fascinated by the culture of the city and how much San Francisco is an epicenter of culture not only in California but throughout the country and the rest of the world.

What will this internship help prepare you for in the future?

I feel like this internship will help prepare me for urban living, understanding different cultural and philosophical views as well as expose me to the diversity that is San Francisco. I also believe that it’ll prepare me for different ministry positions by giving me an overview of different roles and responsibilities within a church plant setting. I’m really looking forward to experiencing the community of the church as well as serving within the city. I believe it’ll help give me a better understanding of a servant’s heart.

How do you see your faith and the experience you’ve gained in the classroom intersect with the culture of San Francisco in a positive way for the Kingdom?

As a biblically trained student, I think I’ve been well equipped to address the issues of our culture. I’ve been able to think critically and rationally about different views and how they intersect within the church. I was taught how to interact with different views outside of my own with respect and loving-kindness. But most of all, I think my experience in the city will help develop my learning atmosphere in the classroom once I return.

Fun Fact (Keenan’s Claim to Fame): A girl Keenan dated in the past is on the cast for Real World Cancun (Jonna).

Pray it up!
