Meeting Those Who Pray For You

This past week I (Aaron) had the opportunity to meet with two groups of people who have been and continue to faithfully pray for us while down in Florida at the Exponential Conference (the largest gathering of church planters in the nation). It was an amazing experience to meet with Pauline Cole and her team at First Baptist Church in Orlando, Florida and share some of the things that God has been doing in our midst because of their prayers. It was both exciting and humbling to be in their presence and to know that they have been faithfully praying for us and our team for over a year.

I also had the opportunity this past weekend to hang out with The Pursuit Christian Church in Miami, Florida and pray with their team who have also been faithfully praying for us. I can’t tell you want an amazing encouragement it was to spend time in prayer with them and also pray for their congregation and the amazing things God is doing in their midst. It is truly amazing to know that we have so many people praying for us around the country—people from New York City to Boston, Miami and Orlando, Chicago, Detroit, Seattle, San Diego, and seemingly everywhere in between... not to mention a collective of churches who have been faithfully praying for us in Liberia Africa! I truly wish that I could visit with every one of you and tell you in person all the amazing things that God is doing because of your prayers. We are tremendously thankful for your ministry to us and we know that none of what we’re experiencing would be possible without you! Thank you for being such a big part of what we are doing here in San Francisco!

Grace & Peace,

Aaron, Justin & The San Francisco Project Team

Facilities Search

As God continues to bring more and more people into our Launch Community and as the date grows ever closer to our public launch (October 11, 2009) we’ve started searching for locations in the city that we can meet in that are fairly priced, spacious, and easily accessible. There are several spaces that we’ve started looking at and are very interested in pursuing, however there are several great challenges with finding a location. The first is that in the city of San Francisco many locations that look like they’d be perfect do not have a public assembly permit meaning you can only legally have 49 people together at one time. (In fact, in the near future we will have this issue with our launch community. As we grow we’ll have to find a place to meet that has this public assembly permit.)

Another of our challenges associated with locating a space has to do with cost. It’s not an inexpensive endeavor to rent/lease space in the city of San Francisco and therefore we’re having to be very creative to find the location that not only meets our needs but also fits our budget! This is a matter of prayer for us and we would ask that you would please add this to your prayer lists and ask for God to provide the best location for the plans that He has for our new church!

Pray it up!
