The Speed of Prayer

This past week I (Aaron) made my way out to San Francisco to secure housing for Tracy and myself. We weren’t quite expecting God to show up as quickly as he did! Apartment #1 didn’t quite work out for us, but apartment #2 sure did! The second appointment we set up was the perfect place! Not only does it provide us with more space than we were expecting and a larger living room for entertaining and small groups than we thought possible, but it provides us with a conference room on the top floor of the building which can be used by the staff of our church plant anytime we need as well as a large meeting space that can hold 50 people—which we can use free of charge for our launch team gatherings!

"Perhaps my favorite part is the meeting space for our launch team gatherings. Located on the top floor with windows all around it gives a beautiful panoramic scene of the entire city. Can you imagine having 50 people gathered together chomping at the bit to not only start a new church but prepared to transform a city praying over the very city that they’re staring at from above? I sure can and I can’t wait to get to that point!

"Thank you so much for your prayers, God certainly answered them quickly and more perfect than I could have expected or imagined! We will be moving in to our new place on August 13th and we already have a small contingent of people from San Francisco and the surrounding communities ready to help us move in. God is certainly working and moving in great and mighty ways! Keep on praying!

The Prayer of the Faithful Saints

If you haven’t noticed already there’s a theme developing in this newsletter centered around prayer. While in San Francisco this past week my friend Linda, a long-time resident of San Francisco and church planting guru, told me that for the past decade people have been praying for the church in San Francisco and that new churches would be planted to transform and revolutionize this area. There have been several groups of people that have walked the entire city, every block, every street, every neighborhood praying not only for new churches but for a move of God! These faithful saints and many others have set alarms on their phones, their watches, their clocks, to go off every day at 10:02 and they stop and pray Luke 10:2

He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

The streets of San Francisco have been paved with prayer. It’s completely remarkable to think about, yet at the same time it is both humbling and extremely exciting to think that this project is the fruit of the prayer of the faithful saints of San Francisco.

Our current prayer team is fast approaching the 300 mark with new people joining every day! However, we’re still a far cry from our goal of 10,000. There are men and women praying for us all across the country as well as across the ocean in Liberia, West Africa! We still need so many more and we covet your prayers. If you haven’t already signed up to be a part of our Prayer Team 10k, you can do so by quickly responding to this email and saying “I’m in!” If, however, you are already signed up, would you consider recruiting 10 people to join our team? If everyone on the list did we would hit 3,000 in no time at all! Simply respond to this email with their names and email addresses and we’ll get them on the list!

God is doing an amazing thing here in San Francisco, and we want you to have a big part in changing this part of the world!

Grace & Peace,
Aaron
