Reflecting on 2008 and Looking Forward
As 2009 quickly comes around the corner there is so much still to be done as we prepare for our public launch in October. We have big dreams, and big goals for what God can accomplish through this new church in San Francisco and we know that you’ve been praying and supporting us in tremendous ways. Thank you so much for your faithful support and encouragement. We look forward to sharing with you all the amazing things that God continues to do in the coming months leading up to our launch and beyond! Grace & Peace, Human Trafficking, The Sex Trade and San FranciscoSan Francisco is one of the largest hubs for the trade and enslavement of women and children into prostitution in the United States. In fact, there are over 250 active massage parlors in the city with the majority of them as “known” erotic brothels, yet there are less than 200 Protestant churches in the city. With more massage parlors than churches in the city it’s no wonder that San Francisco has become the hub that it has. Recently, Aaron was invited to join an exclusive group of movers and shakers within the city who are working hard to make a difference within the city by bringing attention to this problem, and to create action that will stem the tide of such a horrendous problem. This group of “New Abolitionists” is made up of organizations both Christian and non-Christian with the sole purpose of eradicating the sex trade and bringing healing and hope to the victims of this heinous enslavement. As the church, we have been commissioned to make a difference in the city by bringing the light of Jesus into the darkest places on earth, and this is one of them. We look forward to seeing what God will do with this new group and the impact that can be made for the Kingdom of God in San Francisco as we continue to help people find their way back to God!
