Prayer Works?

Often times in the midst of discouragement and struggle we're left wondering whether God is listening and if prayer really works at all. This past week was one of those moments I wrote down as evidence that God really is listening, God really is working, and God really does answer prayer.
Almost two years to the date, Tracy and I (Aaron) made the decision to move to San Francisco to plant a church, and for nearly two years we've labored and struggled to reach a very important fundraising milestone that would enable us to launch our weekly gatherings on October 11th. Last week God answered that prayer and brought us to the 75% mark with enough start-up money to enable us to start on time--October 11th!
We have been tremendously encouraged by how many of you have been praying for our fundraising endeavors and have supported this project financially. Although we're not finished we do see the finish line just ahead! Thank you for helping the people of San Francisco find their way back to God!

» Facilities! Please continue to pray for us as we search for and try to secure a gathering space in the city for Ikon Christian Community. Pray that we will leverage the resource of space and that wherever we land will be a resource for bringing hope to San Francisco.

» Finances! We have certainly been blessed by the generosity of many. However, we have a couple of staff members who are also working to raise a large percentage of their salaries for the next couple of years. Pray for them as they work multiple jobs, contact friends and family, and do the hard work of making ends meet in the city.

» Launch Team and Residents! Our launch team continues to grow in number and diversity. Please continue to pray that God would bring together a group who is thirtsy to grow in community for the sake of others. Also pray for our new leadership residents, Duane and Abby Chew as they work to integrate into our community and our great city.
