“Take Christmas away, and in biblical terms you lose two chapters at the front of Matthew and Luke, nothing else. Take Easter away, and you don’t have a New Testament; you don’t have a Christianity; as Paul says, you are still in your sins. We shouldn’t allow the secular world, with its schedules and habits and parareligious events, its cute Easter bunnies, to blow us off course. This is our greatest day. We should put the flags out.”

We must move from Belonging, which is often "Community for Me" to "Me for Community" which is through Love, Consistency, Worship and Authenticity. We can only reach authenticity when we move from love, to consistent gatherings to worship that disrupts our life. </itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>The first century church had a reputation vastly different from our modern church reputation. Converting the Church | Confession is about getting back to the root of this first century church and beginning the difficult work of integrating your life; no longer compartmentalizing Jesus and the Church.

Dionysius, c. 260AD penned this regarding the early Christian church:
"Most of our brother Christians showed unbounded love and loyalty, never sparing themselves and thinking only of one another. Heedless of danger, they took charge of the sick, attending to their every need and ministering to them in Christ…"

Recent studies published in the book UNCHRISTIAN show that Christians are now regarded most often as: Hypocritical, Judgmental, "Get Saved!" (or you can go to hell), Anti-homosexual, Sheltered, Too Political, All talk.

These are vastly different. For most of us, being a Christian is a compartmentalized thing that we cast aside until it's time to be around other Christians. Church is a safe place for you to be a Christian but that is not what we read about in the early church. It's time to be fully in on Jesus for some of us. For others it's time to take the step. Commit your life fully to Him through Baptism. For even others it might be as simple as beginning telling people what you did this weekend, and for once including "I went to church and we served our neighbors on 6th St." We must move towards integration if we ever desire to accomplish our mission of uniting people with Jesus to change the world they inhabit. </itunes:summary>
