For The City | The Gospel | Aaron Monts

This is beginning of our conversation called “For The City”. The Gospel has often been presented as Good News in regards to our separation between God and Us but really what we see in scripture is a broader picture of separation.

“Take Christmas away, and in biblical terms you lose two chapters at the front of Matthew and Luke, nothing else. Take Easter away, and you don’t have a New Testament; you don’t have a Christianity; as Paul says, you are still in your sins. We shouldn’t allow the secular world, with its schedules and habits and parareligious events, its cute Easter bunnies, to blow us off course. This is our greatest day. We should put the flags out.”

PAUSE: Converting the Church | Sending | Kim Hammond

This gathering we feature a guest talk with Kim Hammond, a friend and the national director of Forge America. Kim shares a challenge to return to the centered nature of the gospel, letting our awe and love of God spread and send us into the world on mission.

PAUSE: Converting the Church | Self-Sufficiency | Aaron Monts

We actually have what we need as a community. We need to start taking care of ourselves financially, but also with our gifts and roles. We need to step up and get involved in furthering the movement of Jesus through IKON.

Generosity connects us and it connects others with the story of Grace.

This is a get to, not a have to…This is not a duty this is our opportunity… An opportunity to “Build a church you’d be proud to have your friends be a part of.”
